NAMI Family-to-Family Classes
NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 12-session education program for family, partners, friends and significant others of adults living with mental illness. The course is designed to help all family members understand and support their loved one living with mental illness, while maintaining their own well-being. The course includes information on illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression and other mental health conditions. Thousands of families describe the program as life-changing. The program is taught by trained teachers who are also family members and know what it is like to have a loved one living with mental illness.
NAMI Family to Family Classes Available at the following locations:
NAMI York County, the local organization of National Alliance on Mental Illness, will offer the NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program for spring 2018, beginning March 8 and continue every Thursday through through May 24 .
A Family to Family class will be available at the Veterans Administration in Lebanon.
This class will be on Thursday evenings beginning March 1st. Class times: 6:00pm to 8:30pm.
NAMI Homefront Class
NAMI Homefront is a free, six-session education program for family, friends and significant others of Military Service Members and Veterans with mental health conditions. It focuses on the unique needs of military and veteran communities, such as post-deployment and post-discharge transitions. The course is designed to help family members understand and support their loved one while maintaining their own well-being. The trained teachers of this course are also family members who have experience with military culture and know what it is like to have a loved one living with mental illness.
The NAMI Homefront Education Program is scheduled to begin on March 6, 2018, and will be held on every Tuesday evening for 6 weeks from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at the Lebanon Veterans Affairs (Lebanon, VA). This course is offered through both NAMI York County and Lebanon VAMC.
