Rose Alberghini
Executive Director

Rose became Executive Director of NAMI PA York County in January 2007. Up until that time, she had been a member of NAMI for 15 years and the local affiliate president for 5 years. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Long Term Care Administration from York College of Pennsylvania in 1988. Previously, she worked as Director of an adult day care center for 4 years and as a senior center director for 14 years.

Her experience with having a family member with a mental illness inspired her transition into the mental health field in 2006. Knowing the importance of NAMI’s goals of education, advocacy, and support, she realized, as an affiliate president, that an office with staff available during daytime hours was necessary to accomplish these goals.

Rose serves on numerous committees, including the Service Area Planning (SAP) and Continuity of Care (COC) committees at Wernersville State Hospital, the Local Housing Options Team (LHOT), Recovery Oreinted Coalition (ROC), and the Evacuating Community Residents in Need (ECRIN) Advisory Committee. In 2009 she was apppointed to the Board of Directors at Wernersville State Hospital.  She is also a certified trainer for Pat Deegan’s “Hearing Distressing Voices”.  In 2009 she was selected to become a board member at Wernersville State Hospital.

She lives in Red Lion, with her husband, Jay. They celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on February 14, 2008. She has 3 children- Marcus, Christopher, and Laura- and one grandchild, Alyssa. One of her proudest personal accomplishments is learning to scuba dive in 2007.

Danielle Dennis
Danielle is a part-time Program and Advocacy Specialist.  She has been employed at NAMI PA York County since January 2008, but has been active in NAMI for over 10 years. Danielle has been the Chairperson for the annual Mental Illness Awareness Walk since its inception in 2010.

Danielle participates in many NAMI outreach efforts at schools, neighborhoods and resource fairs. She also is active on numerous committees including the Minority Behavioral Health Coalition and the York County Community Support Program (CSP).

She continues to educate herself by attending select classes through Drexel University, Community Care Behavioral Health, NAMI Conferences and other venues.  She is a Family-to-Family teacher and has received training in, and assists with, CIT trainings.  She also graduated from the York City Citizens Police Academy.

Donna Zmijewski volunteers as a part-time office assistant.  Donna grew up in Schuylkill County.  In the past, she has worked as a medical transcriptionist and a veterinary assistant.

Donna lives with the diagnosis of Schizoaffective Disorder, but that doesn't stop her from being active and involved with NAMI activities.

She volunteers her time at the NAMI PA York County office twice a week,  and also volunteers as a Connection Support Group facilitator, an In Own Own Voice presenter, and a support assistant for Peer-to-Peer classes.  She finds that giving back to others is one of the most important parts of her life.

Donna's other interests include art and crossword puzzles.  Art allows her the freedom to express herself in a creative way.  Crosswords keep her mind active.  Both activities require her to focus her attention solely on the task at hand.
